The Boston School Of Painting

This blog is about the Boston School of Painting and the art of those studying and attempting to paint in this style--Including me! The Boston School is the longest continuing tradition of painting in American art. Its roots go back to R. H. Gammell, Edmund Tarbell, William McGregor Paxton, Jean-Leon Gerome, Paul Delaroche, and Jacques Louis David.

About Me

Sandra Galda
I created this blog in 2011 as a site to celebrate and promote "The Boston School" style of painting and its related artists, past and present. I founded the first art renewal approved atelier that took place in a High School during regular school days. I trained 6 years as a student of Paul Ingbretson at his studio. My education is: B.S. in Graphic Design from SUNY at Buffalo and a Master of Liberal Arts degree in 2008 (concentrated in Art History), from Harvard University. Now teaching in my own atelier, the Boston School Style of contemporary realism. You may view some of my artwork at my art blog sandragalda.blogspot.com, my Facebook and Instagram accounts.
